Spring 2018 Hiking Schedule
Saturday, May 5: Quehanna Wild Area Loop Hike, Clearfield, Cameron, and Elk Counties.
11 miles, strenuous. A gorgeous loop hike in the heart of the Quehanna Wild Area between the Quehanna Highway and Mosquito Creek. Elk sightings are possible. Meet at the Quality Inn parking lot in New Columbia, just off Rt. 15 near the intersection with I-80 at 8:30 am, or 9:30 am at the parking lot of Snow Shoe Restaurant, just off Exit 147 on I-80. Sunday, May 6: Cold Run Trail & Sawtooth Area Loop, Sullivan County.
6-8 Miles depending on our route, moderate to strenuous. Meet at the small Loyalsock Vista parking lot at 9:00 am. We’ll take the Canyon Vista Trail to the new Cold Run Trail. From there we’ll explore the Sawtooth area. Depending on our route, there could be a fair amount of bushwhacking. Highlights: vistas, cascades, rock formations, and remoteness.
